TOP UK runs a network of supported self-help groups for anyone who has a phobia, OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) or a similar related anxiety disorder. Our groups are open to anyone, aged 16 or above and you do not need to have seen a doctor or have a formal diagnosis to attend one of our groups.
All our self-help groups meet once a week and are run by trained volunteers, many of whom have overcome a phobia or OCD themselves. Our groups use an evidence based, self help method, which is based on the Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles of exposure and the work of Professor IM Marks. In many cases there is a long waiting list for therapy on the NHS but you should be able to access one of our TOP UK groups immediately.
Anyone who wishes to attend a group will need to complete an application form, none of our groups (with the exception of Jersey) are drop in. There is also a small weekly charge to attend a group but this is reduced for those on low incomes. TOP UK does not receive any government funding and we rely on donations to continue our valuable work.
